Jo’s Quantum Cafe

I hadn’t known Ellen long, but she and I had become close. Our families were planning to spend time together in April at her home. On the 13th of January, we were emailing plans back and forth. On the 17th, she was gone. Her passing reinforces to me how tenuous and fleeting life is, even when it’s a long life.

I spent today watching the inauguration of President Obama. He’s called for a new involvement of American citizens. I think I will volunteer more of my time to community. I volunteer at the YMCA and at a local outdoor botanical museum. I’ll have to see what else I can do.
